Dulcimer Workshop

Multi-talented, multi-instrumentalist Bob Webb will be here from West Virginia in July to teach a 4 day Appalachian Dulcimer Workshop. He'll also be available during that week for private instruction on dulcimer, mandolin, fingerstyle guitar, plus consultation on home recording or setting up a project studio. Dulcimer Workshop is Monday through Thursday, July 11-14 at The Woodshed in Enterprise. Classes start at 4:00 PM each day and run for 1-1/2 hours. Cost is $50 per person. Contact the WVMA to register.

Bob Webb is a lifelong musician. He has played cello and guitar since childhood, and dulcimer and mandolin for over 20 years. He was a founding member of the band Stark Raven which went on to become the house band for the syndicated public radio show Mountain Stage. In his years on the show, he accompanied musical stars Odetta, Tom Paxton, Shawn Colvin, and Arlo Guthrie, among others. Bob is a recording engineer and producer who collaborated with Kate Long on the 2002 radio series “In Their Own Country” which was nominated for a Peabody Award. He has produced two children’s albums and taught 650 children and adults to make and play his “boximer” dulcimers at schools and camps, has published a beginners’ dulcimer book and recorded the CD Here Comes the Sun with West Virginia dulcimer player Dave Haas.
